January
Headline:  Like December very cold with frequent snow showers during the first fortnight. Coldest January in Northampton since 1987.
February

Headline:  Again cold with below average temperatures, but essentially cyclonic with frequent outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow.

March

Headline: Settled first half under the influence of a fairly stationary high. Unsettled in the second half with frequent outbreaks of rain.

April

Headline: Very dry and sunny. Some very warm days followed by chilly nights.

May
Headline:   Cool for the first fortnight with a prevalence of northerly winds, then very warm.  Rainfall well below normal.
June

Headline:   Mostly dry, warm and sunny. Rainfall significantly below average, temperatures significantly above.

July

Headline:   Warm, but rarely hot.  Rainfall below average.  Sunshine significantly below average.

August
Headline:   The wettest August locally since 1917. Very changeable marked by a succession of Atlantic lows and trailing frontal waves.
September
Headline:   A changeable month, becoming particularly cold in the last week.
October

Headline:   Changeable. Wet to begin with and mild, but turning increasingly cold.

November

Headline:   Mild at the start and changeable, but turning increasingly cold and wintry.

December

Headline:   Coldest December since records began in 1931.  Frequent snowfall, but no significant accumulations until the 22nd.
